Today we did a recap on chapter 7. We read Chantra Shastri's essay "Yearning for Love." Her essay was about her not wanting to go through a arranged marriage, but she has no choice but to go through it because it's part of her culture's tradition. Then we read about Mike's essay "The Drag." His essay was about his experience in drag racing and reaching up to 230 m.p.h. Reading those two essays shows us how they annotated it and how to understand it better.

I agree with you, with the annotations it helps us understand the material better.
ReplyDeleteI felt that the exercises made me understand the material more, not so much annotating. I guess its just because I don't take notes that way.
ReplyDeleteThat's correct. Annotation does help us identify the descriptive and narration in the story.
ReplyDeleteThe story was sad but it was interesting to know her story.
ReplyDeleteYearning for Love was a sad story indeed.
ReplyDeleteI liked the two essays today, along with the exercises being really easy to do.
