Discussion :)
So there was no in class discussion which meant that we would have to review the assignments on our own. I found this to be not as easily explains as compared to an in class discussion because of course professor Rivera was present to break it down for us. Although it was difficult I realized that by having a subject alone would tend to loose the attention of your readers, but if it were supported by more detailed information then it may catch and hold on to their attention. In cases where having a subject and a focus is most important is when you state the main points of your essay in your introduction. In you introduction you are supposed to catch the attention of your readers in order for them to want to read the rest of your essay. By simply writing "My name is Joy" as a starter for your intro may not be as appealing as "My name is Joy and I am from the beautiful island of Rota." Maybe people may want to know more of how your life was on Rota and what makes Rota so beautiful. Those may be enough reason for them to continue reading.

ReplyDeleteyes, I agree that our first sentences or paragraph of an essay must catch the attention of the reader so that they will continue reading it with excitement and enjoyable for them.
