October 5

We got our grades back from test #1 that we took last class here & I hope that everybody was satisified with their results. Now we all have a general taste on how the next test is going to be.
We also began reading chapter 7 which is "Descriptive Narration." In this reading we learned that there are 5 narrative patterns: situation, conflict, struggle, outcome, and meaning. The techniques of descriptive writing are: dominant impression, word choice, point of view, and order. The two types of description are objectice which is fact-no emotion, and subjective which is opinion-feelings. We then completed exercise 2 which was to complete the pattern to the topic set in our books or any other topic of our choice. I found that exercise really easy to do and understand. Then, we had to work on the exercise before that, 1, which was to complete the following outline given in the textbook.
We covered quite alot of readings and it's a lot to remember. See everyone back on Monday! Have a good weekend!
